Aupec - Training - Tailored Training Programmes

Tailored Training Programmes

We host tailored training programmes, either at our offices in Aberdeen or at any other location worldwide.

Many of our courses incorporate hands-on computer exercises with simulation models capable of producing alternative risked scenarios. Some of our most successful courses require students to construct their own financial evaluation models under supervision. These are then used to negotiate an exploration contract or gas sales agreement as part of a business game.

Aupec's international experience enables a unique comparison with industry practice elsewhere in the world.

  • Representatives from the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan were trained in negotiation techniques by Aupec and Professor Alex Kemp. The team went on to negotiate contracts with western oil companies worth billions of dollars. They included the giant Guneshli and Chirag oil fields in the Caspian Sea.
  • Aupec has hosted training programmes for government representatives from various countries including Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Nigeria and Angola.
  • In 2004 and 2005 we delivered seminars to OPEC representatives in Vienna. Previous training delegations have comprised senior government officials, including deputy ministers of Energy, Petroleum, Economy, Tax and Finance, from a variety of countries.
  • Aupec has delivered training on a range of subjects relating to petroleum economics and oil industry finance to personnel from oil companies as diverse as Mobil, Repsol, Sonangol, KOGAS, SOCAR, SONATRAC and AIOC.
