Benchmarking Services
Aupec's benchmarking services typically run on an annual or biennial cycle beginning in Quarter 1 each year and delivering results at the end of Quarter 2 in time for your next budget or business planning cycle. However, Aupec are able to offer flexibility to clients about the exact timeline of the project and to customise a study just for your organisation. Our databases contain up-to-date current information on your peers that can be accessed at any time when you Benchmark with Aupec.

Aupec's benchmarking products are employed throughout the energy industry as a management tool to measure and enhance business performance in critical areas.

Benchmarks are delivered on the basis of an annual or biennial, club-based subscription service. This annual ‘club’ based approach enables the sharing of up-to-date, normalised information essential for identifying business improvements, and promotes vital networking opportunities for peer companies. We have worked with many of the major oil and gas companies and their subsidiaries worldwide.

Aupec’s benchmarking experience began in 1990 when Shell Expro approached us with the challenge of capturing data from North Sea operators on their IT expenditures and resourcing. The North Sea IT Benchmark – now called Pure Play Upstream IT Benchmark – became Aupec's first annual multi-client study. Since then we have developed and strengthened our benchmarking services with a suite of products for the energy industry. Clients can participate in benchmarking studies at the global, integrated oil and gas company level, at the strategic business unit level, or they can choose to focus in on benchmarking of an individual refinery.

Our benchmarking clients benefit from:

  • secure web-based data capture systems with detailed model definitions and auditing procedures
  • a dedicated and experienced team of benchmarking project managers and business analysts
  • on-site assistance for training and development of new benchmarks, and presentation of results
  • workshops for discussion of results, development of benchmarking models and sharing of best practice
